DL View is a software solution that ameliorates the quality of Medical Images using Deep Learning and novel Neuro-Imaging Techniques. This allows medical staff to improve their diagnostics and performance, reducing the number of imaging scans performed. Medical staff will be able to import Medical Images straight onto our cloud-based app using computers, laptops or tablets, having access to the full DL View package from any registered device.
Advanced Deep Learning Algorithms
Artifact Reduction
Our solution reduces the ambiguity of current segmentation/registration classification schemes, proposing a new class of algorithms, reducing artifacts in Medical Imaging.
One of the main novelty elements introduced by the deep learning algorithms consists in the use of the ReLU (Rectified Linear Unit) function as activation of the neurons in the convolutional layers. This contributes substantially to accelerating convergence and increasing the speed in the neural network training process. Moreover, the new “dropout” technique used reduces the complex co-adaptations of neurons, forcing the neural network to learn more robust features.
Finally, in order to cover the entire image de-noising process, Metal Artifact Reduction and Motion Artifact Reduction algorithms have been developed and implemented into the DL View package, to make sure that Medical Specialists and Surgeons around the world have access to pristine Medical Images, no matter the quality of the original “bulk” Images.
Super Resolution
The DL View platform allows the viewing of any Medical Image in Super Resolution. This technical advancement allows Medical Staff and Surgeons to perform better diagnostics by having access to new layers of visual information contained in the Medical Images.
The Super Resolution framework works by exploring the properties of non-conventional pixel layouts and shapes. Our setup also includes strategies for selecting good sub-pixel layouts and effective super-resolution algorithms for the Medical Images viewed.
Considering the results of our experiments with the Super Resolution Framework, these algorithms have the potential to guide the future Medical Images layout design with super-resolution functionality.
Secure and Confidential
Cloud Security
The DL View solution is located on encrypted cloud servers. The data there is scrambled, making it much more difficult for any cyber-criminals to access. The Medical Staff that will be using our solution will not have to download our tool on their computers or mobile devices in order to use it, protecting it from Piracy and Data Leaks.
The cloud servers containing our app will benefit from consistent cyber-security updates from the cloud service provider, as well as auto-patching features, firewalls and third-party security tests.
Since DL View is a medical solution, critical for patients and Medical Staff alike, the data will constantly be backed up, always having back-up servers available in case the main servers go down or experience any interruptions of any kind.
No Image Storing
On top of benefiting from state of the art cyber-security measures and encrypted cloud technology, DL View never stores any of the “bulk” or improved Medical Images in its database.
In order to insure the privacy of the patient and of the medical staff, the DL View platform performs all of the required improvements to Medical Images without storing any of the imaging data. Medical staff using the platform will be able to access the improved Medical Images only during timed sessions, which can be extended in order to accommodate their needs.
After the session has expired, all data concerning the Medical Image being improved is deleted immediately from the app and from the servers.
Increased Flexibility for Medical Staff and Patients
Synthetic Image Production
The revolution of Medical Imaging software could not be complete without a Synthetic Image Production feature.
With the help of Deep Learning techniques, DL View can produce Medical Images of a desired modality without having to perform an actual scan. For example, the platform can create a CT image with MRI data. This means less radiation for the patient, and less scans performed in the world. This is great news for the many radiologists suffering from burnout (according to the JACR, more than 50% of radiologists suffer from burnout), but also for the patients who benefit from a reduction in healthcare costs.
The reduction of Medical Imaging Scans performed also means a reduction in overall energy consumption, radiation and global healthcare costs worldwide.
